Abstract

The paper discusses the importance of children's theatre plays for puppet theatre, often neglected in children's literature theory because of its perfomative nature. Considering elements of animation as the starting point the paper analyses selected puppet theatre plays written by Milan Čečuk, Croatian author also known as the author of Croatian puppet theatre theory, with the purpose to explore their complementarities. The conclusions show interconnection between theoretical postulates and literary work, reflected in animation being the main characteristic of puppet theatre.
