Abstract

Gas turbine is able to start quickly and reach the nominal load in a very short time. Therefore, turbine blades, rotor, combustor, high pressure super heater, undergo high thermal and mechanical loads that can provoke initial cracks and damage components. Analysis of crack initialization and their propagation is a mandatory portion of gas turbine life assessment. The paper presents one of various methods of strength analysis based on Neuber rule that is using Ramberg-Osgood model for elastic-plastic area of material properties. Method was tested on models by FEM linear and non-linear analysis of isotropic materials.
