Abstract

In the paper variables that could impact milk production on family farms in Croatia were studied during the period 1971-1990. Multiplicative model of manifold regression was used, and concrete analisys was based on logarithmic shape of Cobb-Douglas function. It was found that increasing of milk consumption for 1%, ceteris paribus, lead to increasing of milk production for 1.0554%. Similarly, increasing of number of milking cows under selection for 1%, ceteris paribus, causes increasing of milk production for 0.1222%, and increasing of fodder production for 1%, ceteris paribus, causes 0.4332% increasing of milk production. Impact of other tested variables on milk production was not statistically significant.
