Abstract

The Hilly region are a part of a macromorphological region in the south-western part of the central Croatian basin. Morphologically it is distinctly differentiated: nothern, eastern and southern Banija hilly region. The Banija hilly region are autonomus, while in the morphotectonic sense they represent a typicaldenudative-accumulative morphostructure. Derasion and erosion are the main morphological processes. The main valleys in the hilly region have tectonic tendencies.
