Abstract

Current methods of treatment of root fracture allow preservation of the dentition, which is of great importance not only for the masticatory function, but also for the aspects of esthetics and phonation. This study was carried out to demonstrate the efficacy of the methods and their advantages and shortcomings, by comparison of the surgical and orthodontic extrusion of the fractured root in the cervical third, as exemplified by the cases of two boys with almost identical fractures of the upper central incisors.
