Abstract
The paper analyses Andrić’s student projects (which he will be referring for the rest of his life), and numerous plans for new buildings and restoration projects in Split upon returning from Roman Accademia di San Luca in 1816, which will later be constant cause of discussion between him and the local community and, particularly, between him and several professionally competent opponents such as Carlo Lanza and Francesco Carrara. Special attention is given to his projects for the restoration of the Cathedral in Split, his proposal for the interpolation of the theatre into the abandoned church of St Maria de Taurello and the idea to reconstruct the southern facade of the Diocletian’s Palace with the basements of its residential part.
