Abstract

Silicoater technique or silicoating is chemical bond system (makes mechanical retentions unnecessary) which prevents rising o f gap in the margin area between resin and metal. According to this, it solves the problem o f fracture and detachment o f a veneer or its discolorisation. The purpose o f this investigation was to found the values of the bond strengths achieved using Silicoater technique on the most commonly used alloys and resins. On 90 specimens devided in groups, subjected to water storage and thermocycling, values of the bond strengths were investigated in combination of this technique with two alloys and three veneer materials. Silicoater technique gave the best results in combination with Dentacolor XS veneer material and Auropal dental alloy.
