Abstract

The methodology o f Quantitative Aerobiological control is described and the results o f measurements o f the intensity and character o f air contamination are commented for three different dental departments. The importance o f such a control is stressed in context o f general efforts to improve the quality o f air in dental ambulances, to prevent contamination and decrease the incidence o f aerogenic infections. The results o f those measurements show different intensity o f air contamination in each o f three dental departments. The greatest air contamination was registered in ambulance for prosthetic dentistry, some lower in ambulance for oral disease and the lowest air contamination in ambulance for tooth extraction.
