Abstract

The paper presents a short historical overview of cadastral surveys of the City of Zagreb. There are the main characteristics of individual surveys described and the areas presented that were included into the city at that time. The causes are also analysed because of which there was no continuous maintenance of those surveys. There are also the reasons given for the initiation of new detailed surveys in single time periods. It is indicated that a new detailed survey of the city should be needed, referring to all changes that occurred in the period between 1958 and 1965. Since the production of special geodetic documents before making design and erecting new structures, the possibility of their replacing new detailed survey of the city is analysed.
