Abstract

Although the Croatian national tradition in adult education is long, the concept and the term of lifelong learning is becoming more accepted in our population with changes in the social system and the adoption of aspects of modern labor market. Many researches show that positive emotions have a significant role in our functioning and adjustment to new social situations. At a time when some occupations, for which people have been educated, are no longer required, and number of new jobs and required competencies is growing rapidly, need for training programs and / or re-education of adults is growing too. Due to the laws of the market many people even in their career peak become superfluous and redundant and it is one of the greatest stresses and activators of negative emotions in the adult population. Inducement of positive emotions stimulates their willingness to adapt to new situations, engage in the learning process and successfully complete it. So they will, as educated and productive, return to the world of work and contribute to the progress of a society.
