Abstract
Parenthood is always a challenge, especially when it is developing in special circumstances. There are many different ways of raising children. Which way to choose depends on parents' experience, their character, material situation and social support. Parents are so called functional educators who mostly express themselves through non-verbal communication in their relation to children. A child gets its firs lessons from family. It learns spontaneously rather than consciously. Demonstration-imitation is one of the basic ways how parents influence their children. Parenthood is extremely complex, demanding and difficult 'job' which last 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and a whole year. To deal with these obligations, every parent should spend some time in specific schools for parenthood in order to gain a success in this mission.
Parenthood is much more complex issue when talking about SOS mothers in children villages. Therefore, additional pedagogical education is needed (especially the one which deals with parenthood). This education showed its necessity and gave positive results.
