Abstract

The constant circulation of water on Earth is described and the Earth is analyzed as the system characterized by interaction of global processes. The hydrological cycle is analyzed and the global balance of water resources is estimated. An estimated rate at which these resources are being used is also given. Anthropological influences and effects of climate change on hydrological cycle are described. Data about the total volume of water on Earth are presented and, at that, It is indicated that the quantity of fresh water available to people and ecosystems is becoming more and more scarce.
