Abstract

Speaking of youth ministry in the Church today, the author in the first part of his article recalls the characteristics of the various continents. The youth are invited to become initiators of reconciliation, justice and peace, to achieve personal and convincing encounter with Jesus and to develop a clear awareness of their faith. An encounter with Jesus is also an invitation to young people to restore fellowship and active participation in social structures. Young people need help in their search for meaning and thirst for God, and offer them a faith lived in the community. Therefore, today's education should regain its humanizing role.
The second part concerns youth ministry that is highlighted with the experience of the Church where the Magisterium of the Church serves as a reliable compass. The Good News must be proclaimed to Young people today and to witness for God, as does Pope Benedict XVI. World Youth Day contributes to this goal in a special way.
