Abstract

In the article, which is structured according to the traditional stages of lectio divina, the author speaks of Jesus the Good Shepherd. The first part explains the passage from the Gospel of John which speaks of Jesus the Good Shepherd. Understanding the biblical context reminds us that God is here portrayed as a shepherd of the flock, the people, made up of free people. Jesus is the shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep. He has a historic role. In connection with life, it is timely to remember Don Bosco’s preventive educational system. Those who practice it show how the teacher can still apply the pastoral love of Jesus the Good Shepherd. This is education without coercion and anonymity, where the teacher knows by name the pupils and helps them to live life with joy in physical and intellectual breadth.
