Abstract

In numerous speeches and public appearances, Pope Benedict XVI speaks explicitly about the importance of seeking and discovering the meaning of life. The article shows how the Pope in very different situations and occasions and before various audiences speaks about the importance of the meaning in life. Jesus Christ is the ultimate answer to the question about the meaning of life. The task of catechesis is to help every baptized person to daily strive for God and progress in understanding the meaning of life. The church, which is the guardian of Jesus' message that "God is love", with reference to the acceptance of faith in Jesus Christ helps people find meaning in life and to see clearly the guiding signs in everyday life. This is especially important when it comes to young people, who are also called to be disciples of Christ. Parents and family in particular have an important role in proclaiming and witnessing the faith for the meaning in life to young people.
