Abstract

Agritourism is becoming an increasingly important sector of tourism. It is both a contemporary and a tra
-
ditional form of tourism that is rooted in the local tradition and based on geographical features, traditions,
culture and customs, and as such allows for the preservation and revitalization of rural areas. The research
was conducted in the region of Slavonia and Baranja, i.e. Osijek-Baranja and Vukovar-Sirmium County with
the aim of identifying and analyzing the existing offer of agritourism farms, levels of formal and informal
education of employees at those farms, and highlighting the importance of their association. Agritourism is
developed according to the principles of sustainable development; it promotes rural areas, natural, cultural
and historic resources and indigenous traditions, and as such can contribute to the development of the
entire region of Slavonia and Baranja.
