Abstract
Pedagogy year started 2008/2009 a project in the kindergartens of Republic of Croatia called „Children’s Entrepreneurship Week“. In the last period we covered eleven kindergartens with this project. Project team that participated in a realization and evaluation of the undergoing project consists of: Vitomir Tafra, head of the Executive Board of the Education Group „Zrinski“, Zdravko Tkalec, dean of the University College of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Management „Nikola Šubić Zrinski“, Jasna Peklic, principal of the kindergarten „Markuševec“ and Dinka Vujatovic, pedagogue of the kindergaten „Markuševec“. The goal of the project was to make society aware of the need for the entrepreneurship education from the earliest age of the child, and through the paly and surroundings in entrepreneur spirit that will allow the children to acquire entrepreneur knowldge, skills and attitude. This project has evolved during the last period. We came to the conclusion that it is necessary to educate the kindergarten staff, with this conclusion our team has already started to work on the second faze of a pilot project with more determination. We did this through interactive workshops . Fully educated staff with all the support and cooperation with the project team, will gradually as a part of regular activities introduce the basics of the entrepreneurship with committing themselves of giving regular reports about how the project is progressing. Also, we have put an emphasis on a cooperation of the parents with the local community, because we depend on the support of the same and on the promotion. The need for projects like these came out of the new National Curriculum framework for preschool education and general compulsory and secondary education in which one of the main goals are to balance with the needs and development goals of Croatian society and an individual. One of the eight basic scopes for a long term education are initiative and entrepreneur which was provided by EU, and the educational politics of the Republic of Croatia has accepted them and is instigating them in National Curriculum framework. That scope is referring to the ability that an individual can produce ideas into actions and it is including creativity, innovation, initiative, team work, resolving conflicts without violence, project planning towards the realization and the abilities and the skills necessary for the activation of social and market services. The emphasis is on the expected achievements of the educational system and development of the entrepreneur scope.
