Abstract

Occupational diseases and accidents at work are no longer the primary issue in occupational safety and health domain. Attention is increasingly more focused on the possible hazardous impact of nanoparticles on health, on the impact of stress on health impairment and also on elderly workers and the prolongation of their working life. Mistreatment at the work place and presentism are two important recognized factors requiring attention of occupational health services and other agencies for the purpose of maintaining the workers’ ability to work. All the stakeholders in occupational safety and health system in the Republic of Croatia have to focus on these new challenges and follow the global trends in this area.
