SACROILIACAL ARTHROSIS - DISEASE OR RADIOLOGICAL FINDING?

Abstract

A dinical manifestation of radiologicaUy registered sacroiliacal arthrosis in
the patients with lumbosacral pain syndrome or coxat'throsis was regi9tered in
this paper. Arthrosis as a disease was examined by clinica!l tests for sacroiliacal
joints while rad.iologically .i't was conflirmed by x-ray of those joints according
to Barsony. Out of 121 patients, 77 (63,60fo) -to them had a remarkable sacroiliacal
anthrosis, while only 6 of lthem (patients in the group with lurnbosacrai syndrom)
appeared to have a c1kJical picture of arthi'OSiis as a disease. The arthrosis as a
disease of those joints was not possjble ·l'o fiind out in 'llhe patients with coxarthrosis
because of a symptomatic »hip-lumbosacraq spinec and lt!he comple>ei1y of
incrvation of sacroiliacal joints. Due to this reason, it w:1s impossible to d.ifferentiate
the source of the pain.
