Abstract
All laboratory test results must be interpreted in the context of the overall health of patients and are used along with other tests or assays. In monitoring the patient with cancer basic laboratory tests are sedimentation rate, blood count, biochemistry, coagulation parameters and tumor markers. In this short review we will describe all the importance of these laboratory results. Tumor markers indicate that there has been regression or progression of tumor growth, spreading of metastases and, therefore, prediction of survival. Tumor markres show us the period of remission, and the quality of life.
