Abstract

A range of lest methods was performed on dimension stone samples prevail limestones and carbonate conglomerate and brec¬cia to determine water absorption, density, bulk density, absolute (total) and relative (effective) porosity. Water absorption and relative porosity were tested under atmospheric pressure and additionally under subpressure conditions. The influence of pore properties on the resulting parameters is evaluated attentively. The obtained values which are a consequence of structural-texlural and petrographic characteristics, origin and post genetic processes (tectonics and diagenesis) are presented graphicaly.
The influence of water absorption enhancement and relative porosity after subpressure treatment was analyzed together with water absorption variation compared to stone bulk density.
