Abstract
The paper demonstrates the consumption of energy and the performance of machinery involved in the production of permanent crops. The study was conducted on three different locations in North-Western Croatia. The researched machinery included three types of tractors and eight agricultural implements. Among permanent crops tillage machines, the highest energy consumption and the lowest performance rate was observed in protective zone maintenance machines. The Olmi Double 180 disc hoeing machine used in the maintenance of protective zone thus achieved the lowest performance rate of 0.39 ha h-1 and the highest energy consumption of 280 MJ ha-1. The highest performance rate of 1.76 ha h-1 and the lowest energy consumption of 44.18 MJ h-1 was observed for the Zupan 1500 L trailed sprayer, followed by the Agromehanika 1000 EN trailed sprayer which achieved the energy consumption of 78.90 MJ ha-1 and
the performance rate of 1.42 ha h-1.
