Abstract

Research was carried out on Simmental, lstrian and Slavonian Podolian cows from Croatia. Haemoglobin and transferrin frequencies in lstrian and Slavonian Podolian were different in similar investigation in previous years. The possible reason for such difierence could have been in the decreased number of animals. Frequencies of Hb, Tf, casein (αѕ₁, αѕ₂, β i k) and β-lactoglobulin in Croatian Simmental were similar to German Fleckvieh. That leads to the conclusion that the two breeds have similar phylogenetic background.
