Abstract
The ashing of the organic matrix is the most time-consuming and difficult step when environmental samples are analyzed. The ashing of environmental samples of organic and biological origin is performed by rapid dissolution with Fenton's reagent i.e. H202/Fe2+. Fe2+ present in each sample is used as a catalysing agent. Before dissolution the samples are mixed with water.
