Abstract

The study was performed in a group of industrial workers occupationally exposed to benzene and in a control group of 100 nonexposed workers. The determination of phenol in urine was found to be the most sensitive test for the assessment of benzene exposure. The increased phenol content in urine was proportionate to benzene exposure.
