Abstract

After introducing the Parker's method for the determination of dinitro-ortho-cresol in the serum and urine we performed examinations of workers exposed to DNOC in order to estimate the correlation between DNOC concentrations in the serum and urine and the onset of clinical manifestations of poisoning. Not a single worker from the 27 examined showed signs of poisoning. In all workers DNOC in biological material was in permissible concentrations. Occupational stigmata (yellow nails, skin, hair) as signs of DNOC exposure were present in 16 workers.
