Abstract

In north part of Croatia local cabbage cultivar "varazdinsko zelje" is one of major vegetable field crop. Hot summer temperature, Mn, irrigation, and dew are favorable for the most important disease: black rot, caused by Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris. The most important sources of primary inoculums are infected seed and contaminated plant debris from the preceding crop. To prevent bacterial disease epidemics seed was treated with 3-4 % disinfectant Menno Florades (9 % benzoic acid) (30 min. and 2h). The results in field testing showed the effectiveness of commercial formulate containing famoxadone plus cymoxanil (Equation PRO WG - Du Pont) against phytopathogenic bacteria Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris.
