Abstract
In distinction to investigation into the problems of fatigue looking for biochemical and physiological correlates in the organism, this study approaches the· problem of fatigue from the aspect of subject's experience. Such an approach is justified because in normal occupational conditions physiological symptoms of fatigue are weak, un reliable and non-uniform, and because subject's working effort, his readiness to pursue the work as well as his attitude towards work are largely conditioned by his feeling of fatigue. For this study a questionnaire has been composed comprising 24 questions of multiple choice type. According to answers subjects were divided into those experiencing fatigue at work and those who do not get tired by work. Comparison of the two groups of subjects and ,their answers to other questions from the questionnaire (or comparison with other data collected, such as the data on the productivity estimation) makes obvious the associations between the feeling of fatigue and some other variables (satisfaction with wonk, mood at and after work, appetite, sleep, etc.). In this preliminary investigation the questionnaire was applied on 115 workers of a food factory. The associations observed have been interpreted. Results seem to justify the approach to the' study of fatigue from the aspect of subjective experience.
