Transformation of Coordinates from the Krim System in the Area of Istria to the Gauss-Krüger Projection

Abstract

The Krim coordinate system is one of the old systems, which was used in the 19th century for survey and production of cadastral plans on the territory of today's Croatia. Parameters of affine transformation for 11 fields were calculated on the basis of 36 identical trigonometric points for the transformation of coordinates from the Krim system in the area of Istria to Gauss-Krüger projection. Parameters of a unique affine transformation for the whole area of Istria were also calculated. Parameters calculated in both ways were used to transform coordinates of a certain number of points from the Krim system to the Gauss-Krüger projection. Differences larger than 2 m are found in only 14 points at the edge of the transformation area.
