Abstract

Investigations on chronic CS2 poisoning were started in 1959 in the viscose factory in Loznica. The method of work involved the study of working places, toxicological analysis of CS2 in the atmosphere, cross-medical examinations as well as laboratory findings. Out of 113 examined workers, 33 showed clear signs of chronic poisoning. Neuropsychical poisoning signs dominated the clinical state and manifested themselves mostly by pol neuropathy. In cooperation with the factory medical staff, a new plan has been devised for further systematic control of the workers.
