Abstract
The agricultural biomass classification includes also the biomass obtained by production of fast growing energy crops. In order to make the production of energy crops as efficient as possible, special emphasis should be put on agricultural harvesting biomass technique. The aim of this paper is to provide an over- view of the important perennial agricultural energy crops and the possibilities of their mechanized harvest. The biomass harvest can be divided on two techniques, namely multiphase and single phase. The mowing itself is carried out by flail mower, rotary drum mower, cutter bar mower, rotary disc mower, self-propelled windrower and self-propelled forage harvester. Considering the harvesting technique, it is important to provide appropriate agricultural mechanization for the gathering spread biomass into a windrow for ba- ling, pressing and manipulation of biomass.
