Abstract

This article describes the process of simplification of collision tests
in computer games. Due to their complexity the objects in games are
replaced by simpler bounding objects like cuboids, balls and capsules
that are easier to make collision tests with. We use a simple model to
show how to construct bounding objects and we compare moments of
their collision.

Keywords

bounding objects; area minimization; intersection testing
