Abstract
Economic development of all societies
depends on new knowledge management, i.e.
on the management of ideas, innovations and
inventions, whereas the hypothesis of successful
economic development is based on efficient new
knowledge management. Scientific institutions
throughout the world need to be a significant
source of new knowledge and contribute to the
creation and promotion of new products, which
commercialisation would enable economic growth
and development. Such promotion becomes
increasingly virtual, due to new information
technologies. Based on the research, which was
conducted on two presentation portals of new
knowledge, one Croatian and one Canadian,
both identical in type, it was noted that Croatian
scientific institutions do not promote virtually
new knowledge, whereas scientific institutions
of developed countries virtually promote in a
particularly efficient way. This research paper
also establishes a correlation between the virtual
promotion of new knowledge and the level of
economic development.
