Abstract

Observance of the Geneva Convention concerning medical personnel and ambulance cars with a Red Cross sign transporting wounded members of the Croatian Army was monitored in the region of Slavonia. Data are presented for the last four months of 1991. During that period 23 medical professionals were killed or wounded, mainly by shells, and 31 ambulances were damaged or completely destroyed. Most of the damage on ambulances was also due to shell explosion.
