Abstract

In our previous works on static disturbances causing the low back pain we proved that both the transitory segment of the L — S angle disorder cause the low back pain in 18.3 % of cases. Although many authors examined static disturbances of the L — S spine, none of them gave the precise value of the L — S angle. They claimed thet the L — S angle measured between 15 and 55 degrees. The lack of preciseness in determining the value of the L — S angle induced our attempt to define the exact value of the L — S angle. We measured the L — S angle in 84 persons on a radiograph taken in LL projection (with tights positioned at the right angle on the base of the film during radiography). The examined persons were aged between 20 and 40 years and had never suffered from the low back pain. Having measured both the L — S angle and its mean value, we proved that the relevant value of the L — S angle measures 32 degrees.

Keywords
