Abstract

The emissive properties of a polarized mercury surface in
contact. with aqueous solutions of electron acceptors is discussed.
The proportionality between photocurrent and light intensity is
experimentally verified; the origin of the residual current is discussed,
and the potentialities of a photoelectrochemical method
of study· of the properties of intermediates and radicals is illustrated
for carbon dioxide.
