Abstract

The paper portrays and analyzes the poetic collection of Drago Štambuk »Kad su miši balali molfrinu: pjesme kroz prizmu ča-kaj-što« through a literary theoretical key. In a narrow linguistic sense this collection is a poetic certification of the golden formula ča-kaj-što, coined and relentlessly promoted by the Croatian poet, essayist, anthologist, translator, cultural worker, physician and diplomat Drago Štambuk.
The golden formula of Croatian language ča-kaj-što summarizes and represents/ depicts the essence of Croatian language as a three-layer language, made up of three parts (stylization or idiom/accent) Chakavian, Kajkavian and Shtokavian. This threefold frame opens a space of unlimited possibilities of poetic inventions which, as is hereto portrayed, correspond to actual processes of meta-postmodernism. The concrete poetic language of the stated collection by Drago Štambuk, is decoded in the light of reception theory as significantly more complex when compared to the natural language, and the entire considered artistic structure is recognized as a poetic sign in the game-playing mode.
