Abstract

Universidad International Menendez Pelayo of Valencia, Spain, from 23-27 July 1990, organized a Seminar on Environmental Problems of the Mediterranean: Present situation and future prospects.
The programme was divided into 3 thematic sections: a) Analysis of pollution of the Mediterranean, b) Consequences of the pollution on marine environment, c) Future administration and solutions.
The approach to the problems was multidisciplinary but predominantly biological and ecological. Participants were also informed of the legal protection of the Mediterranean.
