Abstract

This paper presents an attempt to elaborate the problem of socially determined concepts of knowledge on sexuality and gender particularly in the field of social and feminist epistemology. Dealing with one of the nodal points of social epistemology – the problem of testimony, author tries to find convergences between feminist epistemology and other critical approaches to classical, individualistic epistemology. Within this framework, Foucault’s and Butler’s theses on discoursively producing concepts of knowledge are being articulated and applied to the traditional individualistic epistemology’s concepts of knowledge.
