Abstract

Vegetables and ornamental plants that are grown in greenhouses host several pests which cause physiological changes by feeding on leaves, fruits, stem and flowers, reducing yield and quality of vegetables. In this case, pest control can rise to problems such as quick development of insecticide resistance, risk of exaggareted accummulation of residual substances due to frequent insecticide use and narrow choice of insecticides. All abovementioned together with increased market demand for the products manufactured according to the principles of integrated pest management questions application of chemical pesticides and seeks for non‐chemical pest management solutions. Coloured sticky boards respresent a tool for the monitoring of pest prevalence in order to predict attacks, determine need and optimal management period and by hanging more boards – reduction of pest population and plants damage.
