Abstract

The main goal of this paper is to research the level of Croatian journalists' familiarity with professional standards of journalism, the connection between education and journalists' work experience and the obedience to professional principles, the internal and external factors which have the crucial influence on their work, the types of pressure they are being exposed to in everyday work and if there is an editorial censorship in Croatian media outlets which causes journalist to disobey the professional rules of behavior. To receive the answers to these questions, a research has been conducted using the poll method on a sample basis of journalists and editors of daily newspapers, electronic and online media.
