Abstract

Benedictus Stay is a prominent Dubrovnik Latin poet. He is known as the author of philosophical epics in Latin, and as a professor of rhetoric at the Sapienza University of Rome. In the poem De Eloquentia elegia he presents a kind of overview of topics, works and authors related to the teaching of rhetoric. The elegy is part of a manuscript 397/1-3 kept in the Dubrovnik Research Library.
