Exact solution of finite parabolic potential disc-like quantum dot with and without electric field

Abstract
The exact series solutions of finite parabolic potential disc-like quantum dot are given in the absence and presence of uniform applied electric field. We define some normalized parameters. From the complex eigenenergy E = E0 − iΓ/2, due to the electric field, we calculate the resonance width Γ of a bounded state. The ground and the first excited state of the electron and the hole are obtained with and without the electric field. The corresponding envelope functions are presented as a function of the disc dimensionality, radius R and half-width L.
