Abstract

With the introduction of new information technologies in precision agricultural production, digital systems are being developed for pest monitoring. The advantage of such systems is that they provide real-time information on the presence of pests and the dynamics of their population in the field, which helps producers make decisions on protective measures, optimize production, and contribute to sustainable agricultural production. Therefore, recently in the market there are more and more developed digital systems and available smart traps for monitoring apple pests, especially codling moth, whose accuracy in identifying pests is equal to the visual inspection of experts. In addition to codling moth, other economic apple pests, as well as damage, can be effectively monitored using digital systems, so their use may become a standard in the apple production of apples and other agricultural crops in the near future.
