BALANCE OF THE EUROPEAN UNION

Abstract
The current member countries of the European Union have begun the process of integration some 50 years ago. Since its Paris Agreement on Coal and Steel, the European Community has gone a long way in the process of integration. The process was influencedby various political, economic and social aspects. In spite of various tensions, integration processes have reached maturity in monetary and economic union.This paper brings the balance analysis of customs union, common market, economic and monetary union. It also analyses the process of regional development, social progress, fiscal policy, competitiveness policy, environmental protection, as well as the sector, energy, transport and agricultural policies. It reviews the relation between the European Union and citizens along with the position of the European Union in the world.The paper, therefore, aims to demonstrate the balance of all European Union policies and its position in the world.
