Abstract

The paper defines the digital transformation index based on the digital maturity
model and investigates the state of digital transformation in selected non-profit
organizations in Croatia. The digital transformation index determines strategic
priorities and the development of comprehensive action plans aligned with the
company's overall strategic goals, depending on the degree of involvement of the
company's stakeholders in the business, use of new technologies and initiatives,
business model innovation, sharing culture, and agility and openness in business.
The index of digital transformation indicates the degree of disruptive innovation
that, under the circumstances mentioned, results from the implemented digital
transformation of the organization's operations. Digital technologies are a factor in
the digital economy and through various system improvements, from incremental
to radical, they transform business processes, products and services of all entities
represented on the market. The paper investigates, in selected non-profit organizations
in Croatia, the level of development of mobile technology, social networks,
cloud computing, processing large amounts of heterogeneous data, the use of sensors
and the Internet of Things, innovative business models, artificial intelligence,
virtual and augmented reality, crypto currency and crypto domain and thus reached
the degree of digitization of business and exchange of digital content. The paper
aims to test the applicability of the index of digital transformation in non-profit
organizations. The subject of the research is determining the applicability of the index
of digital transformation in correlation with economical, efficient and effective
processes of non-profit organizations. In the conclusion of the research, it is indicated
that only non-profit organizations with a high index of digital transformation,
which have successfully implemented the processes of digital business transformation,
create today's necessary market competitive differences and, as leaders
of change, represent a threat to other organizations. Testing was performed on a
sample of non-profit organizations. The research confirmed the tested hypothesis
that non-profit organizations with a high index of digital transformation effectively
carry out their activities.
