Abstract

Vaccination is an important segment of complex health care in children and adolescents. Primary care pediatricians are included in the vaccination program directly through the implementation of the vaccination program, and pediatricians from the secondary and tertiary levels of care are included indirectly in health care of chronically ill children. Pediatricians at all levels of health care are a good source of information about vaccination and vaccines, which is particularly important in the infodemic era. This review analyzes the clinical significance of diseases that can be prevented by vaccination, the impact of vaccination coverage on routine pediatric practice and the importance of continuous and systematic education about vaccinations and vaccines for pediatricians, parents, educators, and all professional services involved in working with children and familie.
