Abstract

This paper analyzes the smallpox epidemic in Yugoslavia in 1972. It is thematically divided into five main parts in which the author writes about the events caused by the smallpox epidemic in 1972 and shows the impact of the epidemic on all levels of society, from the story of patient zero (personally) and the impact on certain settlements in Kosovo, to events at the state level and the impact of the epidemic on mutual intolerance between nations and republics in Yugoslavia, and the special role of the SR Croatia in the whole situation.
