Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present an ontology-based system model for recommending digital educational games that supports experts in the field of special education in improving the learning process of their students. The model presented serves to design and develop a prototype for recommending digital educational games to help special education teachers select appropriate digital educational games for their students. In the model, the user interacts with the system through a user interface consisting of a user login and registration form, a form for entering and updating student data, a form for commenting on digital educational games and displaying comments, an interface for displaying all students, an interface for displaying recommendation results, and interface for
displaying details about the selected digital educational game. The logical layer of the system consists of a module for user authentication, a module for displaying, entering and updating student profiles, a module for recommending digital educational games, a module for evaluating digital educational games and a transformation module. The implementation of the system model is represented with UML diagrams (use case diagram and activity diagrams) as the focus is on the user of the system and their experience when working with the system. The scientific contribution in this paper is manifested through the created ontology-based model of the system for proposing digital educational games for students with intellectual disabilities.
