Statement of Retraction: Novel research methods on evaluating the nexus between environment and energy use: evaluating the role of tourism in the pre-COVID period

Abstract

The Publisher of Economic Research-Ekonomska Istra�zivanja, has retracted the
following article:
Junyi Niu (2023) Novel research methods on evaluating the nexus between environment
and energy use: evaluating the role of tourism in the pre-COVID period,
Economic Research-Ekonomska Istra�zivanja, 36:1, 1490–1509. https://doi.org/10.1080/
1331677X.2022.2089709
Following publication, significant concerns have been raised regarding the authorship
list and the contributions of the named author. Upon investigation, the authorship
list was identified to have changed between submission and publication.
When the author was contacted for an explanation, they provided a response, but
were unable to provide sufficient information as to why the author list had changed.
Despite a request for additional information, no additional information was received.
As determining authorship is core to the integrity of published work, we are retracting
the article.
We have been informed in our decision-making by our Editorial Policies and the
COPE guidelines.
The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will
be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
